Learning and Participation
Creative learning is at the heart of Modern Art Oxford’s programme. We offer educational experiences for visitors of all ages, reaching thousands of people from Oxfordshire and beyond every year. Our participatory activities are designed to help visitors explore our exhibitions, learn and experiment with the support of professional artists and celebrate the relevance of contemporary visual culture to society today.

Early Years and Families
Modern Art Oxford is dedicated to providing enjoyable and engaging activities for the whole family. We offer hands-on workshops, a dedicated space for creative play, activity sheets and more.

Activity Sheets and Backpacks
Download a free Activity Sheet or borrow a backpack from the Shop to explore the exhibition in a new way. Specially designed for the youngest gallery-goers, this is your chance to explore art together.

Education 16+
Modern Art Oxford works with young people to create collaborative artworks, curate displays and develop public events. In light of cuts to arts education funding, we recognise the need for additional support at a critical time in young people’s lives, and our capacity to offer alternative, social spaces for collaborative learning.

Adults and Community
Modern Art Oxford offers unique learning experiences and professional development opportunities for adults living in Oxfordshire. Our projects are designed to offer direct experience of the practice of curating and engaging with artistic research. Our community projects reflect the diversity of our vibrant city and celebrate life-long learning through meaningful art-making experiences.
